IBIS can be used to send email service notifications to customers in case of planned maintenance, outages or other events. Please note that Service Notifications are not included in all versions of IBIS, please contact your account manager if you would like to use this functionality and do not have this yet.
Service notifications consists of three main parts:
Outage (Service Notification) Categories
The category of the Service Notification describes the element of the service that a notification is created for. This may be for example for an airtime service (if the airtime vendor has announced an outage) or for a Value Added Service. It is up to the IBIS admin to determine and implement these categories. Please refer to the Service Notification Categories page for more details.
Outage (Service Notification) Types
The type of the Service Notification describes what type of outage will be in effect. This can range from information, to firmware updates, to maintenance windows and unplanned outages. It is up to the IBIS admin to determine and implement these types. Please refer to the Please refer to the Service Notification Types page for more details.
Service Notifications
These are the notifications themselves, that can be created, updated and closed in IBIS. Please refer to the Creating and updating service notifications page for more details.
