In June 2020 Iridium has introduced Secondary Data Flows for Iridium Certus. Secondary Data Flows give the opportunity to set up multiple data channels within one Iridium Certus data pipe, with the opportunity to charge for these separately from the regular traffic.
Secondary Data Flow settings are available in the Provisioning menu in IBIS:
There are three steps to implementing a Secondary Data Flow:
- Creating the Secondary Data Flow: Secondary Data Flow set up
- Including the Secondary Data Flow traffic in a pricing plan: Secondary data flow traffic rating and invoicing/
- Provisioning the Secondary Data Flow on a SIM card: Adding a Secondary Data Flow to a SIM card
