Certus GMDSS Airtime & Billing Product: to differentiate Certus devices from Certus GMDSS devices, the product Cert GMDSS has been introduced in IBIS. Note that Iridium doesn’t differentiate by product code GMDSS. Certus GMDSS ICCIDs are recognizable by numbering range 8988169727….
An ICCID product can be selected in the device details screen:
The separate product code will allow a biller to create GMDSS specific customer Price Plans, and report on GMDSS revenue.
NOTE: for Certus GMDDSS provisioning it is not required to specify the ICCID product as Cert GMDSS, the provisioning wizard will identify the ICCID and the available Safety configurations automatically. The product is introduced purely for billing and reporting efficiency.
Iridium Certus – GMDSS Price Plan: a biller can copy a regular Certus price plan, use naming convention to recognize the price plan as GMDSS and make it available to product Cert GMDSS only and build the specific fees and rates for Certus GMDSS.
