Prerequisites to activate a SIM card on a Maritime Dual SIM SSG:
- Apply for Dual SIM SSG with Iridium for vessel (Iridium)
- Create vessel in IBIS, see Iridium Certus Vessel Management
- Retrieve service plan ID for SSG in SPNet (Iridium)
- Create Dual SIM SSG customer price plan in IBIS and link it to the service plan ID. see Certus Maritime Dual SIM Static Shared Group
In the activation wizard select the Dual SIM SSG price plan for the customer / vessel:
The next page prompt to select Billing Action to create a new subscription for this SIM card or to add the SIM card to an existing subscription (2nd SIM in Dual SIM SSG).
If the Dual SIM SSG plan is activated and a second SIM is activated, an exiting subscription will appear when selecting Add to existing Subscription:
The billing summary will show no value for the subscription fee as the SIM is added to an existing subscription.
In the Subscription details page the 2 SIM cards are registered to the same subscription and allowance, in this case activated on the subscription on the same date.
A traffic monitor can be set up to monitor the usage in the subscription, for both SIMs and/or each individually. See General – create and edit traffic monitors
