Inmarsat – Call Forward CDRs

Call Forward CDRs are a result of calls being made to a satellite terminal that has the call forwarding function enabled, resulting in a call to the terminal being forwarded to a different telephone number than the satellite telephone number.

Inmarsat has two different Call Forward record types:

  • BDMCF (GSM Mobile Call Forwarding Record), typically containing Call Forward To Voicemail traffic.
  • BDMRCF (GSM Mobile Roaming Call Forwarding record)

BDMCF CDRs

These CDRS are being produced with the following details:

  • Service Code: Call Forward
  • Service Variant: To Voicemail

As far as Digital Skies is aware, Inmarsat zero-rated these calls in all of their plans.

BDMRCF CDRs

These CDRS are being produced with the following details:

  • Service Code: Call Forward
  • Service Variant: [empty]

As far as Digital Skies is aware, Inmarsat charges these calls according to the regular Voice rates in all of their plans.

Call forwarding in Price Plans

In order to ensure the Call Forward CDRs are rated correctly, it is important to assess the IBIS Price Plans to make sure that they have the appropriate pricing rules to cater for the Call Forward records that are not to Voicemail.

  • Create a pricing rule  with a zero price for Call Forward To Voicemail.
  • Add a new pricing rule for Call Forward to your existing pricing rules for Voice, with the same price and other filters (like destination network) as the Voice rule that it is copied from.
