Inmarsat/Viasat SCAP application & activation

To order a SCAP and activate SIMs on a SCAP plan, the following steps need to be followed in this order in IBIS and Service Delivery Platform (SDP):

  1. IBIS: Create customer account in IBIS for which the SCAP is ordered, see Customer Account Creation – customer details.
  2. SDP: Create SCAP order in SDP, under the correct Folder ID.
  3. SDP: When SCAP is order is complete, order status changes to completed and SCAP ID is shown on the order.
  4. IBIS: Link SCAP ID to customer price plan with vendor rate plan, see Create Price Plan.
  5. IBIS: Activate first SIM on customer price plan, this will activate the SCAP and start subscription in IBIS and in SDP.

** Please Note: with the new Inmarsat SDP platform, there is no longer a need to upload the SCAP ID into IBIS. IBIS will use an API call to the SDP platform which will pull all active SCAP IDs into your price plan creation/edit screen. See Inmarsat Provisioning – SDP synchronization. You just have to select the correct SCAP when creating/editing a price plan.
