Suspend service

Suspension of (all) service can be processed through a manual or auto-suspend order in IBIS provisioned to the satellite operator

Suspension of data service (suspend PoP) can be processed through a manual or auto-PoP suspend order in IBIS provisioned to the PoP network. (Refer for more information to Firewall Management )

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • Suspending services at Satellite operators may take considerable time before the session is disconnected. Please inform end users about the delay of a processed order at the Satellite Operator and that traffic can be generated between the order time and actual suspension of the service.
  • (Auto) suspend orders that are triggered by an traffic/usage monitor depend on the frequency of CDR delivery from the satellite providers. While the suspension order is in progress and after the suspension order has been completed there is a window in which CDRs are generated and received. In general, a delay of up to 20 minutes should be taken into account.
  • When selecting Suspend Data Only, traffic from the terminal will be blocked when it reaches the PoP. The connection from the terminal itself is not blocked. These connection attempts will generate billable CDRs at the satellite provider.
  • If there is an error with any step in the process it may delay the SIM card being suspended. It’s important the DP/SP monitors provisioning tasks and failures, see more information [Monitor Provisioning Tasks] https://digitalskies.info/monitor-provisioning-tasks/
