In addition to activating via the regular activation screen, it is also possible to activate via templates, these templates can also be used for API based activations. Please note that this is not available in IBIS by default, please contact your account manager in case you are interested in this functionality.
In order to provision Inmarsat IDP (Isat Data Pro) devices, the following details are required:
- ICCID – This is the terminal number in IBIS – please note that as there are no SIM cards, the terminal identifyer is used to populate the ICCID field.
- Mailbox ID required to activate on the terminal. This is the location where the messages from the terminal will be sent.
- A template for the required product and price plan
IDP terminals can be uploaded into IBIS individually or in bulk with a spreadsheet with the terminal details, see Upload SIM Card Details.
In addition, the following needs to be in place:
- The customer is set up correctly, if not, go to the customers page and set up the customer
- Confirmation of the end user of the requested price plan to activate on
- Information on any monitoring required
- Optional: Name or cost center of the terminal on the terminal details screen
- Optional: Email address for notification of the end user
Activating the IDP device via a provisioning template (also used for provisioning via API)
Go to the top level menu item [Provisioning] and then to [Template based provisioning] [provisioning wizard].
- Select the correct customer to activate on.
- Select the provisioning template (which includes the price plan)
This will bring up the rest of the provisioning screen, where the following fields must be selected:
- ICCID (this is the IDP terminal ID)
- IDP mailbox
- Industry (mandatory field for all Inmarsat activations, in the example below it has been defaulted in the template to Utilities))
At the bottom of the page, press [submit] to complete the provisioning. The terminal will be activated within 10 minutes.
